Lymphatic Flow

“The lymph vessels that surround your gut make up 70% of your immune system. Your bloodstream gets pumped by the heart, but your lymphatic system is acting as the circulatory system of the immune system.” -Lisa Gainsley, the Lymphatic Message

Where are the main locations of your lymph nodes that need detoxing?

  • Neck
  • Armpits
  • Abdomen
  • Groin
  • Back of knees

Detoxifying Lymph benefits include a strengthened immune system, less inflammation and more vitality. What are ways to help your lymphatic system out?

  • Self massage
  • Exercise
  • Sweat/ sauna
  • Herbs
  • Aku Tools
  • Jade Rollers

The Aku roller and Aku ball are great for helping drain lymph out of breast tissue, abdomen, groin and back of the knees. It is important to roll lightly in the correct directions to encourage detoxification and drainage.

  • Roll up on the back of the legs to the knees
  • Looking down, roll slowly from right to left and down around the abdomen
  • Roll gently from the center of the chest towards the armpit
  • Roll up thighs towards the groin

These are some tips to help move lymphatic fluid in the right direction and detox. Rolling in the wrong directions can lead to more puffiness and backup of fluid in a region. To learn more about lymphatic massage, check out this article by Medical News Today:
